10/1/2008Dear Friends,
Our fall program this year is from Emmet Fox book The Sermon on the Mount in which he explores the Beatitudes, or attitudes of being. These be attitudes are actually a distillation of Jesus teachings. So familiar to many, these sayings guide us away from dogma and toward our spirituality and a meaningful communion with the Divine.
The Sermon on the Mount was given to the apostles as guidelines to experience heaven on earth. People during the time of Jesus were challenged, just as we are today. However, for each person to find health, peace of mind, love and spiritual development, we have to be willing to make changes in our lives. This is not always easy. Jesus gave us the guidelines we are to follow to make those changes successfully.
Each week we will look closer at one of the 8 verses of the Beatitudes, seek the deeper meaning in the words of Jesus, and then bring them into being in our life. I encourage you to join me as we walk with Jesus through the Sermon on the Mount and begin to live the life we were meant to live.
In Gods Love and Light, Karen |
